Paul Archer Isn't Done Confronting His Demons: Watch the Intense New Video for 'No FEAR'
The Belfast artist drops a visceral new visual for the standout track from his acclaimed solo debut Art.
Paul Archer has spent thirty years making records with bands like Burning Codes and Disreali Gears, but it took a solo debut to strip things back to the raw nerve. Now, seven months after the release of his acclaimed first album Art on Think Like A Key Music, the Belfast singer, songwriter and visual artist has dropped a new video for album standout "No FEAR," and it hits exactly as hard as the title promises.
At just under three minutes, "No FEAR" is the most direct thing on Art, a record that otherwise moves between euphoric alt-rock and contemplative cosmic soul across fourteen tracks. Where songs like "Fear Destroyer" and "Heavy Soul" build slowly and sprawl outward, "No FEAR" locks in tight: a declaration of emotional focus, choosing love over paralysis, reassurance over retreat. It's the sound of someone who has painted enough canvases and played enough stages to know that fear is just noise.
The video matches that energy. Stripped down, visually stark, it lets Archer's intensity do the heavy lifting rather than hiding behind effects or narrative gimmicks.
Art was recorded in two distinct sessions: one in Leeds with producer Andy Hawkins delivering the album's fiercer alt-rock moments, and another in Belfast with Rick Bleakley handling the more reflective, soul-drenched material. The guest list reads like a who's who of Irish and UK music: Duke Special on keys, Jim Lockhart of Horslips on flute, Jonny Quinn of Snow Patrol on percussion, and Janet Henry adding vocals. Archer's own Abstract Expressionist paintings adorn the packaging, completing the circle between his two creative lives.
Reviews have been catching up. Writing for DMME, Dmitry M. Epstein called the album "cerebral and emotional," while Here Comes The Flood praised Archer's ability to "paint with sound." For a debut that arrived with little fanfare last August, Art has quietly built the kind of word-of-mouth that outlasts any press cycle.
Archer is currently planning a Sonic and Visual tour of UK and Irish art galleries for 2026, blending live performance with multimedia visual art. In the meantime, watch him break down the story behind "No FEAR" in the discussion video below.
Art is available now on vinyl (limited to 250 copies), CD digipak, and digital via Think Like A Key Music.
